US Weather Spotlight: 1-3-19
Phil Genskow

Trough of low pressure moves from near the TX and LA Gulf Coast northeast to the northern part of the MS/AL state line today. Rain, snow, and ice will all be likely with this system. Snow and ice will be found on the west and northwest side of this system from west central TX northeast to far northwest AR. Heavy rain is likely ahead of this system as well, building through east TX early today, LA, AR and MS early this evening, AL late this evening, and then TN, northern GA, and western Carolinas overnight.

More active weather for the Pacific Northwest as rain continues in western WA, precipitation builds into eastern WA, northern ID, and northwest MT, and rain chances developing as far south and the far northwestern part of the CA coast overnight.
