Upper trough moves out of the Plains today, with moisture increasing along and to the east of it. Rain showers or drizzle will be possible from the Gulf Coast states north through the Mississippi River Valley and into the Great Lakes. The heaviest showers are expected to be in east TX through early evening, MS and LA through late evening, southern AL and north FL overnight, and possibly southern GA and southern SC by Thursday morning. Lighter showers or drizzle expected further north with some in eastern MN, western WI, and western UP of MI changing to wintry precipitation overnight. Spotty light rain and or snow showers are still possible behind this feature in parts of the Plains, but the main story will be increasing winds.

Another strong Pacific storm approaches the Pacific Northwest overnight resulting in another increase in chances for rain and snow in western WA and increasing winds for western WA, western OR, and northwest CA.
