Weekend Weather Spotlight: 9-23-22

One system is expected to affect the country through the weekend.

A trough of low pressure will move from the Northern Plains to the Great Lakes in the next couple of days producing areas of showers with a few storms possible as well. shower activity is expected in the central and northern Plains into the Midwest today, the Great Lakes on Saturday, and the eastern Great Lakes and Northeast on Sunday. Much of this activity should be light with a few pockets of heavier downpours with better chances of this in MN and northern WI tonight, eastern UP of MI, and northern lower MI on Saturday, and finally in the eastern Great Lakes and New England on Sunday.

Looking ahead to the beginning of next week, eyes will be on the tropics as a tropical system looks likely to develop in the Caribbean over the weekend and make to around Cuba and the Cayman Islands Sunday night/early Monday and could threaten central and south FL by late Monday night/early Tuesday.
