Weekend Weather Spotlight: 11-11-22

The main feature to affect the country will be the remnants of Nicole which will move up the eastern part of the country and will bring widespread rain and gusty winds to this region. This system will begin the day in the Southeast and quickly move northeast getting into the Northeast by this evening, and by Saturday evening/overnight it is expected to be over the northern Atlantic. Widespread rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches from eastern KY to ME with an inch possible as far south as northern GA, west as OH, and east as CT. Sustained winds shouldn't be too strong with the strongest staying near or off the coast, however, gusts may still get to 40 mph in a few spots. Tornadoes will continue to be possible as well on the northeastern side of the low center affecting the eastern Carolinas and southeast VA.

There is one other active area in the country and it will be on the southern end of a cold front which is helping steer Nicole's remnants northeast and will be located front MI to central TX early today. Much of the precipitation along this front is expected to dissipate early today with the exception of east TX where robust development is anticipated. Widespread amounts of 1-2 inches are possible from east TX to northern MS today into tonight. A few severe storms will be possible in southeast TX where wind and hail are possible along with a couple of tornadoes with the best chances coming in the Corpus Christi area.
