US Weather Spotlight: Halloween 2018

A cold front continues to head east today, starting the day extending from lower MI all the way south into central TX and then moving east, stretching from ME southwest to the northwestern Gulf of Mexico by Thursday morning.

Heavy rain and severe storms will be the the extremes along this front today and tonight, and possibly a wintry mix at times in northern ME. Flood Watches go in effect starting this evening from central OH to northeast TN as widespread rain accumulations of 1-4 inches are likely by Thursday morning. Rain could become heavy at times further south and west as well, with severe storm activity affecting east TX, LA, southern AR and western MS where large hail, severe wind gusts and tornadoes are all possible with any developing storms.

Wet weather continues in the NW today as well with all rain in WA and OR, and valley rain and mountain snow east in ID, west MT and west WY. 1-4 inches of snow could accumulate in these mountains by Thursday morning with some higher amounts in northwest WY and western MT.
